A Discovery

"In the New Age Movement, Indigo Children are children who are believed to represent a higher state of human evolution. The term itself is a reference to the belief that such children have an indigo-colored aura. Beliefs concerning the exact nature of Indigo children vary, with some believing that they have paranormal abilities such as the ability to read minds, and others that they are distinguished from non-Indigo children merely by more conventional traits such as increased empathy and creativity."

Kelsey showed me this on Wikipedia, I had no idea it was an actual... thing?

Characteristics-

"According to New Age belief, Indigo children are highly sensitive with a clear sense of self-definition and a strong feeling that they need to make a significant difference in the world. They are strong-willed, independent thinkers who prefer to be self-guided rather than directed by others. They are empathetic and can easily detect or are in tune with the thoughts of others, and are naturally drawn to matters concerning mysteries, spirituality, the paranormal and the occult, while opposing unquestioned authority and contradictory to convention. They tend to think outside the box, and are often referred to as "system busters." Indigos allegedly possess wisdom and level of awareness "beyond their years." They are also said to have a strong feeling of entitlement, or "deserving to be here."

Some beliefs hold that they are often labeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of ADHD, ADD, OCD, Dyslexia, and also Autism, and that they become unsociable when not around other Indigo Children. They are also believed to be prone to depression and sleep disorders such as insomnia and persistent nightmares. Indigo children also possess defining characteristics in learning; indigos tend to be more visual, kinesthetic learners who remember best what they can picture in their brain and create with their hands. Movement is required to keep them better focused."

Crazy stuff. It doesn't completely get me right, but that's probably the point.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is a Prophet

Time does not exist here. And WHEREVER it went, it's not gonna make me need [her] any less.

Is that an occupational hazard of soul mates? One's not much without the other?

It's not all fire and pain. The real hell is your life gone wrong.

Fate of Indigo I

Still shining with the faint glow of childhood
Ignorant of the intricacies of manipulation
by the selfish and flawed
He was plunged into the madness of lust

Though his journey made him a man
The subsequent conflict disfigured him as well
for the temptress's gaze was damning
And it darkened his heart thereafter

This needs work. Anyone with even a hint of an idea should not hesitate to make a suggestion.

And I still have to finish part 2, and start part 3.

It's All the Rage

You can feel it. Deep down in your liver, and in your bones, you can feel an ominous rumble. And it's growing stronger. It's growing closer. You weren't sure at first, but now you are. You said, "I'm glad it's not raining, but it feels like it should be."

It's an almost comforting thunder, the kind of storm that you HAVE to feel from miles and time zones and months away. You know it's big. And you know that it could have catastrophic results, but you're content with the idea. Because it could wash us all away, or just galvanize us into moving forward once it has passed. Because all progress stopped while we've been expecting it.

And secretly, you know its origin. You know it was sent for you, by you, because you asked for it. You said, "You know what we need? We need a fuckin' Judgment Day!" Because it could wash us all away.

And I suppose I've known all along

I do not believe in people being too good or not good enough for others. It's a silly, insulting notion. But I do believe that people can be made better. I pull them up, only to have it thrown in my face as they move on to better men.

I've noticed a pattern. As a flawed individual, I am drawn to others like myself. But the physician within them is not dead, and they heal themselves in time. I am not enough to be loved by whole people.

The Indigo People

We don't live the same lives. We see a different world, through different eyes. Happiness is not mere satisfaction. It's ecstasy. The world brightens like the sun has suddenly burned more brilliantly than ever before. Sadness is not simple disappointment. It's despair. The sun may never rise again. For every dizzying high, there's a longer, harder low. We may fly for a few marvelous moments, but we'll spend a lifetime in hell for it. We sell our souls for love at every opportunity. We live for love, and we know there's such a thing as loving too much or too hard. We try to give up on it, but we can't. We try not to feel anything if it means relief, but that's the paradox of who we are. We are The Indigo People.
